Setting up your organisation
The settings that shape how FlyerOS works for your school, and where to find them.
Last reviewed
Your organisation settings decide how FlyerOS behaves for your school: who can do what, where you operate from, and the rules the system enforces. They live under Settings, grouped into tabs.
What you configure
- Access. Roles and what each one can see and do. Access is granted by capability, so you can match roles to how your school actually divides work. See Understanding roles and permissions.
- Locations. Your bases. Organisation defaults cascade down, and a location can override them where it needs to.
- Membership types. The kinds of member your school has, and what each implies.
- Eligibility rules. The rules the scheduler enforces, each carrying its source, jurisdiction and effective date, so the rules stay yours and stay auditable.
- Email. The address FlyerOS sends from, and the templates it uses.
The order to do it in
Settings depend on each other, so a sensible order is locations, then roles, then people, then the rules that govern them. Your first week with FlyerOS walks the whole sequence.
Changing settings later
Most settings take effect the next time the relevant screen loads, because access and rules are read live rather than baked in. A change you make in the afternoon is in force for the evening's flying.
